We donate funds and assistance to many local charitable organizations and individuals, such as The Tamworth Talking Newspaper to the Blind, which we helped to found nearly 40 years ago, and more recently, Staffordshire Young Carers, and other deserving local, national, and international appeals.
We have distributed over 45,000 'message In a Bottle' emergency medical information kits around the Tamworth area.
Tamworth Lions have raised over £40,000.00 for the Acorns Children's hospice.
We have collected over 51,000 pairs of used spectacles for the Lions World spectacles recycling scheme, where used spectacles are refurbished and sent to third world countries.
Tamworth Lions, in conjunction with all Tamworth service clubs,have provided an emergency response vehicle to Tamworth Area Medical Emergency service [T.A.M.E.]
Our Message In a Wallet scheme has been launched and is being distributed to outlets aroun Tamworth.
Tamworth Lions Club was officially formed on 21st June 1976 with 26 Members.
Our ‘mother club’ was Sutton Coldfield Lions Club.
Founder members came from such diverse backgrounds as the Legal Profession, Funeral Director, Personnel and Safety officers, Brewers, Engineers, Licensees, Newsagents and Computer Consultants
Currently our membership consists of people from Computer Consultants, Teachers, Customer Service, Engineering, Medical, Newsagents, Distribution Management, Accountancy and Students
This continues the Lions ethos to recruit members from all backgrounds.
